Measurement based quantum computing and spins in quantum dots

Abstract: The ability to control and read out the quantum state of a single electron spin in a quantum dot is at the heart of recent developments towards a scalable spin-based quantum computer. In this talk, I will give an overview of our work of the last few years, focussing on our capability to measure spin states in quantum dots. I will thereby give my perspective on changing measurement basis via electron spin resonance or other techniques, and more generally on whether measurement-based quantum computation is a fruitful approach in this spin qubit system.
