Abstract: I would like to discuss the realistic physical implementation of quantum information processing tasks such as quantum computing algorithms, in state-of-the-art experimental devices using cluster state resources. In particular, I will concentrate on minimal resource linear optical and optical lattice setups. In these settings, imperfect conditions naturally arise due to the non-ideal operation inherent to cutting-edge quantum technology in the laboratory.
