Quantum processing with quantum buses

Abstract: I will review some ideas for producing interactions between qubits via their mutual interaction with a quantum bus. This includes both schemes based on measurement of the bus, and "geometric" schemes which do not require any such bus measurement. I'll outline a trick for constructing conditional displacements from conditional rotations, which should enable "geometric" gates in the dispersive limit of bus-qubit interactions. I'll also describe a probabilistic but heralded three-qubit entangling operation which could be used for efficient cluster state construction.
