Generating arbitary spin states in defect centers

Abstract: The nitrogen vacancy defect center in diamond allows for readout of single electron and nuclear spin states. Also the coherent superposition of spin states has been shown. The talk will describe the generation of different spin states in coupled electron nuclear spin systems of the defect. Their coherence properties as well as decoupling from the spin bath is discussed.
